Many people are saying long-form content will come back as a key player – but we think series of related short-form content (like episodes of a tv show) will be the more popular alternative. Not only is it easier to produce, but it also encourages more followers to engage and follow the brand, instead of simply watching a video once.
  • TikTok either will or won’t get banned. While we don’t know the outcome of whether or not TikTok is banned, if TikTok does stay around, we predict it will turn into an even more massive key player – especially with the introduction of TikTok shop and the rise in popularity of its affiliate programs. Many major brands have already joined TikTok, and micro-influencers are flocking to promote their favorite brands and are eager to accept collabs. This is a powerful force to be reckoned with, with UG content thriving and pushing people to buy directly from within their platform.

  • Unique, creative content will take off. Brands like Duolingo or Nutter Butter have taken wild, creative, and even bizarre approaches to their social media marketing – and seen overwhelmingly positive results.
