We are committed to bringing your VISION to LIFE!
Working with a professional design team isn’t just about getting a logo or website—it’s about bringing your vision to life in ways that surprise and delight. The process involves a lot of creativity, collaboration, and a few rounds of feedback (spoiler alert: revisions are totally normal!). Whether you’re new to the world of design or have worked with designers before, knowing what to expect can help set the stage for a smooth, enjoyable experience.
So, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of what really happens when you hire a pro designer. Trust me, you’re in for a creative ride!
Our professional design team loves walking through each stage of this process – read on to gain insight into our process of making the magic happen!

The Initial Consultation: Laying the Groundwork
What to Expect: The first step is the consultation, which is like a meet-and-greet with a creative twist. During this conversation, we will ask about your goals, vision, brand, and any specific ideas you already have in mind. We’ll discuss the project’s scope (whether it’s a new logo, website overhaul, or a complete rebrand) and establish timelines, budgets, and deliverables. While most of our meetings happen virtually, if you are a local client we will gladly take you out for a coffee!
How to Prepare:
Pro Tip: Bring any existing materials (like old logos, branding guides, or marketing materials) to help us understand your current aesthetic. Even things you don’t like can be useful to share!
Brainstorming and Concept Creation: Where Magic Happens
What to Expect:
Once the consultation is wrapped up, we will move into the brainstorming phase. This is where the creative juices start flowing! We take all the input you provided and begin to craft initial concepts. Depending on the project, this could mean sketching out rough ideas, designing mockups, or putting together a homepage draft to see if we are on the right track.
You might be presented with multiple design directions at this stage, which can be super exciting! Seeing these initial ideas helps you visualize the possibilities and gives the project some creative momentum.
How to Engage:
- Stay open-minded: The initial concepts might not be exactly what you had in mind—and that’s okay! The goal here is to explore different ideas and see what resonates.
- Provide feedback: We promise you won’t hurt our feelings! We prefer honest feedback! This is the time to start sharing your thoughts—what you like, what doesn’t quite hit the mark, and any new ideas that come to mind. Your feedback helps guide us toward the final vision!
Pro Tip: When reviewing concepts, try to focus on the big picture rather than getting stuck on small details (those can be tweaked later!).

Feedback Loops: Communication is Key
What to Expect:
Here’s where the real collaboration kicks in! After reviewing the initial concepts, it’s time for some back-and-forth. We will typically ask for your feedback, tweak the designs, and come back with updated versions. Don’t be afraid to be honest, but try to be specific with your feedback. Instead of saying, “I don’t like it,” try saying, “I think the colors don’t match our brand,” or “I’d like the font to be bolder.”
This part of the process can take a few rounds. It’s a team effort to get it just right, and the more clearly (and quickly!) you communicate, the smoother it will go.
How to Collaborate:
- Be specific: The more detailed your feedback, the easier it is for us to make adjustments.
- Stay constructive: Point out what you like as well as what you want to change. Positive feedback is just as valuable as criticism!
- Be patient: Design is an iterative process, and revisions are a natural part of the journey. We are usually very quick to make edits and changes, but patience is always appreciated. Good things take time!
Pro Tip: Use visuals to explain your ideas if needed. Maybe you saw a style on a website that you love—share that with us to give us a clear direction.
Revisions and Refinements: Polishing the Design
What to Expect:
After a few feedback rounds, we will refine the concept, polishing it until it’s exactly what you envisioned (or maybe even better!). This stage involves fine-tuning the details and filling in content. Oftentimes we will provide you with a detailed copy doc for you to tweak content and ensure accuracy. After all, you are the expert in your field!
You’ll probably start to feel like the design is really taking shape now. We will begin our pre-launch checklist at this stage to get ready for launch!
How to Collaborate:
- Review carefully: Make sure you’re happy with the design and content and there are no surprises when the project is completed.
- Stay communicative: Sometimes this phase can feel like we don’t need your input as often, which can cause a feeling of apathy. Content editing is perhaps the stage we need you the most – keep communicating and being present! We are almost there!
Pro Tip: We are here to make your vision come to life! Again, honest feedback in the key here – feel free to still give us edits to make now while we are fine-tuning things!
Launch: Time to Show Off!
What to Expect:
Once everything is finalized, we will reach out for approval for a soft launch where you can review live the site and make any final adjustments. Then, it’s launch time! Unveiling a revamped or new website is SO exciting (and we couldn’t be more happy for you!). Now you’re ready to share your brand’s fresh new look with the world!
